You will be instrumental in developing and implementing novel quantum algorithms, designing and executing experiments, and analyzing results to push the boundaries of quantum computing capabilities. Responsibilities include defining research roadmaps, identifying key scientific challenges, and proposing innovative solutions. You will collaborate with hardware engineers and software developers to translate theoretical concepts into functional quantum systems. This involves staying abreast of the latest advancements in the field, publishing research findings in leading scientific journals, and presenting at international conferences. A significant part of this role will involve securing research grants and fostering collaborations with academic institutions and industry partners. You will also be responsible for overseeing the research budget and ensuring the efficient use of laboratory resources.
The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field, with a specialization in quantum information science or quantum computing. A minimum of 7 years of post-doctoral research experience in quantum computing is required, with a strong publication record. Demonstrated experience in leading research projects and managing research teams is essential. Proficiency in programming languages relevant to quantum computing (e.g., Python with Qiskit, Cirq, or PennyLane) is expected. Experience with superconducting qubits, trapped ions, or photonic quantum systems is a significant advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for disseminating complex scientific information.
