SpinQ Lands ~$145M to Scale Superconducting Quantum Hardware

FundingHiringQuantum Hardware

SpinQ Technology has raised a total of nearly 1 billion Chinese Yuan (~$145.3M USD) in its Series C funding round, following a recent C+ round of 600 million yuan. The capital injection is designated to scale industrial superconducting quantum computing and expand the company's hardware offerings, including both superconducting and NMR systems. Notably, SpinQ is the first Chinese enterprise to have exported a complete superconducting quantum system and chip to international markets. According to founder and CEO Dr. Jingen Xiang, the company's roadmap includes a plan to double its superconducting qubit counts annually, signaling a significant acceleration in its hardware development and production capabilities.

What This Means for Quantum Careers

This massive ~$145M funding round for SpinQ is a major signal for job creation in the quantum hardware sector, particularly in superconducting systems. The company's goal to scale 'industrial' quantum computing and expand hardware lines will require a significant hiring push. Expect to see new roles for quantum hardware engineers, cryogenics specialists, physicists, and manufacturing technicians. Furthermore, their plan to double qubit counts annually points to an intense focus on R&D, opening doors for research scientists and quantum architects. As SpinQ has already exported systems internationally, this expansion could also create roles in global sales, logistics, and technical support.

SpinQ's nearly 1 billion CNY funding round will fuel a significant hiring wave for hardware-focused quantum roles, from R&D to industrial manufacturing and global support.
