Job Summary:

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Post-Quantum Cryptography Engineer to join the Cybersecurity team at BNY. This role focuses on building and supporting enterprise cryptographic capabilities to enable the organization’s transition to Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC). Based in Lake Mary, FL or Pittsburgh, PA, the position partners closely with technology, security, audit, and regulatory stakeholders to deliver scalable, compliant cryptographic solutions across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cryptographic Engineering & Platform Support: Build, integrate, and support a Cryptographic Asset Management Platform and enterprise cryptographic solutions to enable PQC adoption.

• Key Management & Automation: Implement and support cryptographic key services, including automation and integration with HSMs and Key Management Systems (KMS).

• Architecture & Documentation: Develop cryptographic architecture designs, system builds, procedures, and knowledge articles to support secure and consistent operations.

• Cross-Functional & Regulatory Engagement: Partner with internal teams to define cryptography use cases, evaluate vendors for new initiatives, and respond to requests from users, Internal Audit, and Federal Regulators related to PKI and cryptographic controls.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or a related field

• 5+ years of experience installing and supporting cryptographic solutions in enterprise environments

• Strong knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, key management, secure protocols, and certificates

• Hands-on experience with HSMs, Key Management Systems (KMS), and automation of cryptographic key services

• Familiarity with automated discovery and inventory of cryptographic assets

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Certification: CISSP

Preferred Experience:

• Experience supporting Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) or quantum-resistant initiatives

• Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards (GDPR, DORA, NIST, ISO 27001)

• Experience evaluating vendors and supporting vendor management for cryptography-related initiatives

69.2 - 86.5 USD hourly
